Creativity, Community, and Collaboration are the guiding principles of the of the Women’s Pavilion at HemisFair Park, Inc. This 3C Project unites community resources to create products that benefit all. Each item is unique, made of recycled materials, cut and designed by a volunteer, and handcrafted by women. The Architectural Foundation of San Antonio hosts this project, providing space, equipment, and storage at the historic Pearl Brewery. Freeman provides transportation and storage, and donates banners, saving them from landfills, along with The San Antonio Convention and Visitors Bureau, Dixie Flag, Magik Theatre, the Alamo Bowl and Six Flags Fiesta Texas Kathleen Sommers developed the pattern and Fuerza Unida sews the items. The Women’s Pavilion at HemisFair Park, Inc. and the Architecture Foundation of San Antonio manages the 3C Project by connecting the collaborators and recruiting volunteer designers.
